Play Around with Marbles
While picking which meat to grill, choose marbled cuts with evenly distributed fat. As the meat cooks, the fat will begin to melt, and picking cuts with an even distribution of fat keeps the meat very tender and moist while also infusing it with flavor. Delicious!
Remember Your Vegan or Vegetarian Guests
A few people do not eat, but it doesn’t have to stop them from enjoying the BBQ meal. You can grill a variety of non-meat dishes, ideally on a different grill or at least in some separate area of the BBQ, such as veggie patties, corn on the cob, veggie kabobs, and portabella mushrooms. Feel free to get creative and try out different vegetables, including bell peppers, asparagus, squash, edamame, carrots, sweet potato spears, onions, and even watermelon.
Marinating the Meats on the Grill
Marinating the meat before you cook will help enhance the flavor. Do not keep it in the marinade for more than a few hours, or it could produce a mushy texture. For smaller and delicate cuts, marinate for a more short period of time. While using rubs, be gentle while applying them to avoid damaging or over-seasoning your meat cuts.
Making the Perfect Patties for the Grill
To keep burgers from puffing up in the middle, consider pressing a little indention into the center of every raw patty with your thumb or the back of a spoon before you toss them on the grill. It will also help keep them from shrinking down.
Cook the Patties on Your Grill
Toss the patties on and make sure you tend to them. Flip them every few minutes on both sides. If your grill is on the patio or balcony, make sure you have enough space for the fixings and plates.
Clean the Grill While It’s Hot
After you have finished cooking, but while the grill is still hot, it is a nice time to remove debris from grilling. Use a wire brush or a crumbled-up ball of heavy-duty aluminum foil to scrape it down so it is ready for the next time you grill.
